HOW MANY HOURS DO I HAVE TO VOLUNTEER FOR?

Generally we ask of our volunteers to complete 2 x 5 hour shifts in exchange for a ticket to the event, this includes camping.

DO I NEED TO PROVIDE MY OWN TENT?

Unless you wish to book and pay for a Kartent package the yes, UNIFY: A Heavy Music Gathering is a BYO camping gear (tent, mat, sleeping bag etc) event. Volunteers have access to the general camping area of the site.

IS THERE A VOLUNTEER CAMPING AREA?

No, there is not a specific camping area for volunteers who volunteer during the festival. Volunteers camp in the general camping area.

WHEN DO I GET SENT MY VOLUNTEER TICKET?

You don’t. Once you have been confirmed and you have completed the Volunteer Agreement you are locked in to a volunteer position. You will not require a ticket to the event, when you arrive to the festival you will receive your festival wrist band as you pass through the volunteer lane of the ticketing area.

WHAT IF I'VE ALREADY PURCHASED A TICKET TO THE FESTIVAL?

WHEN DO I FIND OUT IF I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED AS A VOLUNTEER?

Confirmations will start from the week of the 14th of November.
Applications will stay open until all positions have been filled.

WHEN DO I FIND OUT WHAT ROLE AND SHIFT TIMES I HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED?

Roster release takes place from the week of the 18rd of December, ongoing until all positions have been filled. All position descriptions and arrival procedures will be made available at this time.

DO I HAVE TO BE ONSITE AT A SPECIFIC TIME AS A VOLUNTEER?

The short answer is no.
It is advised you aim to be onsite a minimum 2 hours prior to your initial start time so that you can, park your vehicle and set up camp.
You may arrive any time during the event, and if your first shift starts prior to gates opening your coordinator will advise how this affects you.

CAN I ARRIVE EARLY IF I VOLUNTEER?

There are limited opportunities to volunteer before and after the event. In the case you are assigned shifts outside of the festival’s official opening and closing you will be issued early entry. This does not include any friends you may be travelling with that are not volunteering.

DO I HAVE A UNIFORM?

You will be appropriate PPE which is to be worn during then returned at the end of your shift. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Be practical and sensible when packing for the festival. Look ahead at the forecast, bring warm things, layered things, water-proof things, sun-smart things, things with lights, a torch, snacks, water bottle etc.

WHAT MAKES A GOOD VOLUNTEER?

We love volunteers that are accountable, communicative, fun and easy-going and who love working as a team!
Remember to ensure you pack appropriate attire for all weather conditions, a sun-smart hat, water bottle, torch and closed toe shoes. You’re going to have a great time if you think ahead to prepare yourself for your shifts. Costumes encouraged.

WHAT IS THE VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT?

The Volunteer Agreement outlines the engagement and expectation on you, as a confirmed participant. We utilize a payment gateway that securely stores your details which are held until successful completion of your allocated shifts. A nominal, non-refundable fee is processed so that we have your details and in the unlikely event you do not complete your shifts, or break the terms & conditions of the event, or the Agreement, you will be charged the full price of an event ticket plus a $100 administrative fee.

WHEN DO I GET MY VOLUNTEER SINGLET?

All volunteers will be provided their singlet upon the start of their initial shift.
